Damn. You're a few weeks too late. I sold a good set of HRCs only weeks ago. Would have much preferred to sell to a form member.
just going through all my old blade stuff and got a complete set of road fairings, think with lights etc, stashed away though so will dig it out.mint condition from memory
Hi guys thanks for the replies id just like to say i managed to get sorted with a brand new set of very good quality chinese fairings for £150
Great price and look great. A few of us have done this changeover. Best advice is to take it slow and take great care with the belly pan tabs. They might need a bit of filing/trimming. When assembling, smear some dishwashing liquid over both the tabs and the slots. Similarly with the the black knee plastics that clip to the tank. A nice finishing touch is to add OEM tank badges. They're about £70 each so I bought a wrecked tank cover off eBay for £20 and prised off the perfect glazed emblems. Will look forward to seeing the finished product.
Hi thanks for the advice will take it onboard ive already purchased some tank badges in anticipation of getting chinese fairings, it will be in the spring before i get round to fitting them so will update when completed
Might be of some help to djg also, yes, I have a few during the changeover, but not much in the way of close-ups. Hope these might help:
I take it that was £150 plus postage?? They're normally advertised around £250 to £280 with free postage. Ones advertised as low as £150 are normally with £120 postage or similar. Either way you end up paying the same price..... Then you have your customs charge. If you paid £150 with free postage you got yourself a great deal mate
thanks Nigel, only reason I asked was that the below portion of my frame seems a slightly different colour to that past the weld. I noticed yours seems similar, wondered if it was just the light on the first picture or just wear on the bike. This is the part I mean:
Hi Liam. Defo not the light, and my bikes don't wear! I hadn't particularly noticed it before and can't really explain it. I wondered if it might be two different grades of aluminium that have reacted different to paint preparation, but then we'd expect the difference to be immediately at the joint and not just beyond. Left hand side is the same by the way. Got me. Another pic in normal light:
Mines the same Nigel, I’ve seen a few Repsol’s with the same too. At first I wondered if it had been resprayed but with me noticing more and more bikes I guess it’s just a Honda thing. Different grades of aluminium will react to anodising differently. Potentially that would be it, or from the casting or heat from the weld. Many factors could cause it I guess. doesn’t detract from the overall wow factor of them though. sometimes I wish guys like us weren’t so fastidious
