You have to understand me. I'm on the autism spectrum like Guy Martin! Just because something seems legit doesn't necessarily mean it is.:D:D

Of course I remember when you bought it you waited until September for the '69' plate. I acknowledge that you're not setting out to deceive, and apologise if I ruffled a couple of feathers;). My particular gripe over this is dealers (in particular) who will advertise a bike as current, or 2 years later, when the date of manufacture is 2 years earlier. A clear and definitive example is this:
    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2018-Hon...337264?hash=item2ada5fca70:g:S-QAAOSwrj9d24~w
advertised as a 2018 but the bike is actually 2017 manufacture. For most of us, this is easily identified by by the 'blue' Honda on the belly pan as opposed to the genuine 2018's red. But in legal terms, the bike is an 'H' model (as disclosed in ad) whereas 2018's are 'J'. The consequence of this is that an unsuspecting buyer might walk into the dealership and buy what he thinks is a 2-year-old bike. when in fact it is a 3-year-old model.

My 2015 ABS Repsol Blade owned for less than three months due to the ABS trying to kill me - enough said

EDIT - year corrected, I’ve pushed the experience so far back in my mind I made it a 2014 in the original post :D:D:D

Yes, a few of us will remember your traumas over that.
Great that you had sufficient confidence to stick with the brand. Many didn't.:( (I guess you couldn't blame them)

My short ownership experience was back in 1978, I graduated from my Fizzy to a new RD125.
Picked it up on my way home from work at 5, by 8:30 my mate had gone head on into a lamppost on it.
    Completely destroyed.
My Mum went carlo when she found out that I had let someone else ride it...........but that paled into insignificance when I finally had to fess up that I only had enough money buy it and there wasn’t any left over for a minor thing called insurance, still remember the pain when she thumped me on finding that out...... you live and learn as they say :(

Wow, KB. So many stats on bikes being wrecked/damaged after being lent to a 'mate'. Not so bad perhaps if they come good with some repair money, but that very rarely happens.:(

As it happened he ended up with a broken arm and leg, he worked in a bank in the West End, when his manager heard what had happened, he told him he would need a bank loan to pay for the bike, it appears there was no discussion on the subject, how the world has changed !

So I actually got the money, which I never expected or asked for, so with a fistful of folding, I was pleased to tell my Mum, all was sorted and I could buy a new bike and would get insured this time, like f**k did that happen, she had lent me the money in the first place and demanded it all back out of my greasy mitts.

Taught me a big lesson at 17, I spent the next 6 months cycling 25 miles a day round trip to work and back to save enough money for a new bike........ Mum 1 Clever little wa*ker 0
