Local Honda dealer wants £60 to fit 2 tyres during my next service. Does that sound a lot?

Not really for a ride in ride out service. Most around here would charge about £25 per wheel for ride in / out.
About a tenner for a loose wheel.
So slightly expensive but no massively so if your getting a good price on the tyre?

if you're supplying the tyre its a bit higher than average, if the tyre is from them perhaps a little pricey

That sounds about right if its a main dealer and fitted to bike.

If fitted to loose wheels then a bit on the expensive side imo.

Thanks everyone. Price of tyres seems average. Going for Bridgestone S22. Replacing the S21 tyres that were on the bike when I biught it. Managed about 3500 miles on them.

Heard good things about the s22.
Mine came with rs10 on and while they grip like buggery they are also disappearing at an alarming rate, well at least the rear one is. Only done about 600 miles and half of that was riding like a nun whilst running it in and I'm.guessing it's about 1/3 gone. Cant see it lasting much beyond 1200 miles now I'm getting more familiar with the upper rev range:D
Will probably stick the same on again until the front catches up and then I can replace the pair together at which point I'm likely to go for an s22 too.

Around here, £25 loose wheel & £30 on the bike at most tyre shops
Our local dealer will supply & fit only. Money hungry vultures

Mate works for tyrefinder, if I supply tyres, £20 for both wheels either collected from work or drive in drive out after work. If tyres are supplied the fitting is normally in the price.
Kawasaki and supplied last ZZR tyre fitted £15

I had two S22’s fitted on Tuesday this week. Bought them mail order and my local independent garage fitted them for £50, which was ride in/ride out.

Early days, done about 200 miles since but very pleased with them. Knee down after 40 miles, grip and feel make my previously fitted Pilot Road 4’s seem like they were made of concrete. No grip issues whatsoever, despite plenty of abuse and the feedback is by far the best I’ve ever had from any tyre.

Sounds like the choice for me then. If you dont mind me asking, who did you order yours from? Was thinking about a 55 profile. Is yours a 50? Anynoe know if a 55 will fit a standard 18 blade?

From what I understand it plays havoc with the electronics but I’m sure someone with direct knowledge will chip in

Demon Tweaks. Can’t guarantee they’re the cheapest though, I was ordering loads of stuff so couldn’t resist their 0% finance offer.

My blades a 2006. Standard 50 fitment on mine, no desire to change, perfect as it is for me.

Think S22s will be where I go when I'm happy I've killed the Supercorsas off enough. I liked the S21s on the Blade.

Goodness me gents you must all be loaded to think any of the prices you are talking about are anywhere reasonable. I use a National franchise and the price is £10 one tyre £15 for two, ride in ride out. To take a back tyre off and put back on again takes nowhere near ten minutes. At £60 for two tyres that's £180 an hour labour, for a tyre fitter!!!! Get a grip of yourselves.

I here what you say but I've tried cheaper independents and had scraped wheel rims and a massive gouge on a swing arm on one occasion.
Who are the national franchise your using cos if I can get a good job done cheaper I'm happy

'National' surely the damaged wheels etc are the work of the fitter. He/ she could change jobs and work at the place that is charging £60 for two wheels. I know if you live in an area that has £60 as the going rate then that's what you have to pay, and you don't need people telling you they pay a lot less. But don't think they are doing you any favours if they do it for £50. (Just do the hourly rate calculation) I had a Michelin Power RS+ fitted, 190/50, £148 for the tyre, balancing disposal etc, £10 ride in ride out. Make of that what you will. But whatever it costs as long as you enjoy it!

Used to use National drive in drive out, always best prices and good service they would be open Sunday morning, then they stopped doing motorbikes ride in ride out due to insurance reason. But I'm going back 15+ years

Are you guys talking about "nationat tyres"? or??
the charges varries on your location; similar to insurance. So unless the cost is for similar service in the same area, then we are stuck with what we have.

Incidently, from my years (& years& years...:() of experience, I have found, the care & experty of the person doing the job is more important than the cost.

Some tyre places just hire a bunch of heavy handed monkeys off the street who can't even banace a wheel.

I am on the third set s21and they on average last 6-9k on rear and go through 2 rear for a front....... what pressure are you guys running at?

FYI see if they can price match FWR, normally around £250ish a set fitted.
