OEM exhaust painting

    it is on the header.
    the scraches are from the slincer twisting and sliding away.
    The material is very shiny, almost like metal. I will check again to see if it is soft enough to scrape away (finger X)

    It will easily scrape off if you want to replace it, like said by others if it’s in one piece leave and reuse it

    With my confidence boosted, checked again.
    Exactly as you mentioned despite appearance it’s soft so I scrapped it off, will order a new one from eBay not the Honda super expensive part!
    As stitch mentioned it’s a soft outer surrounding wire strands.

    Ended up having is ceramic coated in silver. Unfortunately is doesn't quite match the Ssteel heat guard! Never mind, it'll grow on me.
    I had disconnected the exhaust valve few rides prior to the coating but somehow it sounds more vocal. More of a deep growl. Wonder if the thicker paint coating is the reason:confused:

    looks very smart.
    I am still getting used to the silver finish on mine.
    servo valve reconnected; the sound is now back to how it was & manageable:)
