Well Campers, it does appear the vaccination programme is starting to show positive results and does indeed appear the only game in town as a route out of lockdown controls. Down here in the Costas, we’ve been caged since early November and it’s getting tiring as we all know. So with all that out of the way, hopefully we will get freedom to move around sooner than later and hopefully we will get the benefits of the long daylight days and better weather, which has got me thinking where I fancy riding. The 400 limits it to about 150 miles a day or it’s a trip to the Osteo if I go further to have my neck realigned. The Blade is a lot more gentle on the body and the reality is it’s time more than distance that is a daily limiting factor, so I’ve punted for a 200 mile radius, as 400+ miles probably means the whole day on the bike and hardly any stops with UK traffic and limits. Looking on a map that takes me to Devon, most of Wales with the exception of SW/NW Wales, and as far as Ripon, so plenty of opportunities to see some of the biking haunts out of my normal range. So will be asking for good tips in due course. Anyone else got plans for the shackles coming off ?
Got the chance to do a bucket list ride, so it’s lands end to John o groats for me in the summer mate, can’t wait
Did that last year on my pushbike in 8 days. Are you going on the Fireblade!? I'd love to do it on a small naked bike to exploit all the little back lanes same as the pushbike.
Although I think you need your head testing for doing it on a push bike lol seriously impressive stuff mate. Yes I’ll be doing it on the blade mate and hopefully not the only trip of the year.
The stay at home order is in place until 29th March and then after that I have no specific plans except to use the bikes as much as possible. I'm assuming that the track day I have booked for the 27th March is off.
Brands has been running track days for a few weeks now, so appears they are OK to run, even though peeps are meant to stay at home....go figure that one.
Pass on the answer to that, but quite a few people who live round here have been asking the same question
You may as well stretch it out another couple of days and do the NC500 while you’re there. Love the roads up there.
exactly what I’ve arranged on the way home mate with a little hop over to the Isle of Lewis to pop into see some family
Nothing planned but when out on the blade I like to stay on familiar roads, I can take the micky a bit as I know the nooks and crannies , blind crests, dips beds that tighten , hidden junctions and stuff which lets me have a bit more fun in the upper rev range. IF I'm out for the day exploring it will be my little GS beemer but again no big trips planned but will hopefully still get my 4000 miles on each bike done over the coming year just bimbling from 1 ride to the next and looking forward to every mile
