Talking to a mate today about bikes and gear etc, said if I was to get another lid I'd like the agv pista and he said yeah go for it you do look like a right fan boy in that arai

Now I know a few of you will think I'm a tosser anyways. But do I look like one in this and should I shelve it and get something less colour coded?

I think the whole set up looks good mate, not too matchy matchy at all. I'd say fan boy is more a term related to obsessing over a particular rider or person. The Arai HRC lid doesn't really come under that umbrella so I think you're all good mate.

If you get a Pista though what would you go for?? Plain and simple or Rider rep? The latter would be in the fan boy zone so its a no win situation really :D:D

Keep it... looks mega! My AGV Pista R is my least worn lid purely down to how noisy the thing is (even with plugs) Hideous! And definitely more focused towards track use and being Tucked in under the screen. aperture profile is great, it feels really lightweight and airy with minimal interior padding. But it is comfortable. It’s actually not as light as a X lite 803R, but only by a few grams. I’m still rocking the Shoei X Spirt 3..... fantastic bit of kit even if it is slightly on the heavier side.....

Plain gloss I reckon, they are 20% off at the minute with free dark visor

Couple people have told me the same, and the vents are fixed open although you get rubber bungs for the forehead bit? Think the visor is either open or shut too, ie no stages op holding it open half way etc?

Plain gloss with dark visor! Noooo.... You will loose the all the angles and shapes! You need some contrast to give it some lines.... Don’t do it man! The HRC lid looks ace!

Yep pretty much bang on.... I will only use mine on track or for the odd proper fast ride out! So not much opening and closing going on. And definitely more prone than let’s say upright......

    Plain gloss and mirror visor?

They done a wintery scene special edition one a year or two back which looked great but I think they sold out straight away.

Nah still think it will all look to dark without any contrast loosing all the shapes and angles..... I’ve not seen the other editions. I know it sounds like I’m putting you off the idea. It’s just a load of money for what I would class a more race focused lid! Yeah I know they look cool. I was really disappointed with mine as say an everyday lid. Purely down to noise and a slightly awkward visor! Great when it’s down and locked, or fully up. Just anything in between isn’t great.....

Also if your planning to use the hydration system it just adds a bit more flappery to connect it up.... along with deciding if you want the top vent bungs in or out. Easier enough to do, mines purely a summer lid so the bungs stay out. I’ve also removed the hydration system for road use and only gets installed for mega hot track days..... luckily I have the space in the hump for the water bladder.

It is a nice design, IMHO. But there are some lighter lids out there.

No experience with the AGV Pista but recently purchased AGV K6 which is really quiet and lightweight. For sure my best lid to date, but a bit limited by the number of colour schemes.
