    So who’s got one? What’s a good starter setup? Can anyone recommend anything reasonably budget? Mainly looking for something I can spy on my neighbours back yards with (if I didn’t say it, @Lozzy would have)

    seriously, looking for something that I can play around with, if it gets broken it’s not the end of the world etc etc etc.

    cheers all!

    I've got one of these;

    It cost a few quid but it's great for taking out the neighbours. ;)

    Yeah I got a couple of drones
    DJI Spark (my beginner drone)
    DJI Mavic Platinum

    Taken them on many travels and gets great perspectives which you may never see
    You will need to register yourself to fly with CAA / government but that is quite easy

    some video links below

    I am planning on selling the DJI Spark so if you do want a drone that would be a good beginners one

    Think about what you want to do with it and what you’re budget is. There’s new laws and regulations came out at the beginning of this year so you may want to have a look into that also. Something under 250g will give you the most freedom, but unless it’s purely a toy you’ll have to register for an operator id with the CAA. It’s only £9 and straight forward. If you go over 250g you’ll also require a flyer id which is a simple multiple choice test and is free.

    It’s actually really interesting if you get the bug for it. I recently did my A2 CofC which enables me to fly my Mavic 2 Pro in the new A2 open category (near to people). It was a real eye opener and well worth doing.

    I was given an FX 15 quadcopter as a birthday pressie a couple of years ago. It's in the "toy" range which I need being about a mile from one of the biggest USAF bases in Europe. It's fun, used from the controller or your iPhone and the pics aren't bad. Water proof too. A mate let his daughter fly it on their farm when we were over there and she landed it fair and square in a small reservoir. Sank with the lights on but dried out well. Wimmin drivers............

    I am one of them people that if anything new comes out I have to have, so I brought a DJI Spark Combo flew it about 4 times, now it is gathering dust, I only fly it over my house to have a look at everybody else's gardens. It comes with 3 batteries and it is for sale, the money would go towards a rear hugger and an R & G tail tidy, I am asking £200 and would prefer for it to be collected.
