Well was hoping to get out on Saturday as my day of escape to North Wales and the weather's now looking shite. The Peaks are possibly better but I've sort of been there and done that fairly regularly.

Only frustration I’m afraid! Apparently the full Akropovic system hasn’t fully arrived. Bike was already physical on the 16th June and deposit was placed, The Full exhaust was ordered the same day as deposit. KTM showing exhaust in stock and 8/10 days delivery time. Was all booked in on the 2nd July PDI and Akropovic install including Map. Collection day provisionally booked for the 6th so should have been ample time. Even booked the first service in locally to me on the 13th July knowing the time scales were pretty hectic, and I’d get the miles done pretty quick. So the update from last week was Akropovic had sent some parts of the system but some main items were missing!!! It should have been sent as a kit that includes everything? I’m also doing the chasing that frustrates the hell out of me! So really not impressed at all considering in a few more days time and it will be 4 weeks have passed since deposit and exhaust order placed! …. It’s all Starting to sit uncomfortably with me:(

    That's a pile of shite.

I'm finding weird stuff with stock of various bits and pieces. Alpinestars and Dainese leathers, months for delivery at various stores, same with gloves, boots, visors. I'm guessing stuff predominantly made in the far east. I wonder if they make some stuff in Europe and other pieces elsewhere??

I actually did North Wales on Saturday. Was walking like an Orangutan by the time I got back. Turns out having no fairing doesn't make me behave any better on the motorway and dual carriageway. ;)

Sit rep…. Still no exhaust so have decided to pick it up stock on Friday and wait till the winter and fit the Evolution Akropovic system myself. If I’m honest I’d prefer it that way, I can then van it down to my local dealer and get it signed off and the map uploaded. A few small parts arrived at the dealers, Carbon crankcase protectors, small fly screen, but have told them not to install or fit anything. I’ve also got a more parts that have arrived over the last week. Mainly some more protection. Headlight protectors, Evotech radguard, Tank grips and tank pad, lots of titanium bolts and fixings, Carbon bars, Sprint PO8 filter that I will install whilst doing the exhaust system. Definitely enough to keep me busy whilst hopefully enjoying some good weather.

You could try the Ergo Seat? a and get yourself one of them giant elastic band exercise jobbies for some neck workouts. Most importantly it Sounds like your having fun anyway! …. I’m still slightly pissed that I could of had it two weeks ago! But hey I’m quite happy to be doing the install myself. ….

So 3 more sleeps to the beastie arrives :D:D:D:D:D:D

Well at least it's sort of getting there and you know that a decent job will have been done with the parts. Looking forward to seeing some pics, especially when all the bling is on.

Yeah that’s a proper Fecked up system that’s only going to piss customers off completely! I feel your pain dude. Can’t deal with such incompetence! They had sent some parts…. ie a few clamps, spacers, blanking plates and modules for connectors to isolate the servo etc, oh and some springs:cool: but no exhaust. I’ve since completely cancelled the order with them as I can buy another one that’s physical and complete as a kit. I’ve ditched fitting straight away and will now do the install over winter. The exhaust is actually quite a basic install. The rest of the pare system removal and solenoids system including the evap canister and exhaust servo system, plus wiring is apparently a right ball ache! Can’t be as bad as fitting a full race Akropovic on an early 1199 Panigale! 8 hours latero_O ….. I do like a challenge …. So for now it’s getting a fancy slip on and a exhaust servo delete:D

only two more sleeps….. :):D:):D not that I’m counting!

Well one and a half at this rate!

have you gone for the full fat akra system. the thing deletes the indicators so you need a aftermarket loom kit to get them back working . it's also fuck off loud. looks dam good though.

Yep that’s the one, I’ve already got all the components and correct wiring gauge to start making the loom. Basically works off a separate relay that kids the bike into thinking they are not connected when you initially go through the start up procedure. So it’s around 10/15 seconds once it’s established they aren’t connected the relay then switches them the feed back to normal and fully operational. Ball ache I know:rolleyes: some guy on eBay already has a harness complete and ready to install. But not for the RR as the back lights are configured differently, including scrolling led winkers. He also wants 150 odd sheets!! I’m going to loom mine in so it looks factory! Even got a little Orange waterproof component box for it to sit in….. I’m going to see first though as I’ve not had winkers on a road bike for the last 20 years!…. So might end up ditching the two rear indicators that do everything, side light, brake light and the middles are the scrolling winkers….. thinking I might build a flush unit that fits in the place the number plate hanger bolts to, … It will literally be tail and brake led light, but concealed until operational….. if that makes sense:D

    one more sleep….. Bah:D

They look a little Heath Robinson to me to. But I suppose when it's all plumbed in your not going to see it. I'm probably still going for some kind of flush light system first, something that will fill that space once the brackets been removed and the number plate will slide nicely underneath, so literally do away with the winkers all together.

Like I said I've not had any for the past 20 odd years! Apart MOT times, I will still loom something up for future proof. I think the challenge will be finding a low profile led light that looks like it belongs... Got some old rain lights knocking around from BSB a couple of years ago, but way to bulky. Will look into some parts catalogues as they do some endurance high intensity stuff.... looking forward to breaking it down and finding a solution. Any excuse to get my soldering iron out and some heat shrink .... Happy days...

Can't wait to get the diet going as if it wasn't light enough...

Literally didn’t ride it till 9 last night! For 30mins …..The Friday Exeter trip ended up being an all day affair of misery due to 2 accidents on way home. Spent all Saturday just doing some jobs and fine tuning controls yesterday and plus dare I say it’s too bloody hot! So as knackered as I was I literally had a 30 mins out just to make sure it starts and runs! Living by the coast sucks when it’s this warm as it takes 30/40 mins to get out on some decent roads….. I’m not even going to document anything at this stage purely down to frazzled…..hopefully tonight I might get a chance to use some more tyre!! I will say one word that summed up my 30mins of pleasure…… MEGA! Can’t wait till it’s run in and will give you the full low down:D
