Just over 100 miles into RSV4 ownership and it's leaking oil. The bike was collected this morning, 7 days after it was delivered. They can keep it.

Yes, 2 miles on the clock when I got it. It was already scheduled for a return to the workshop to replace the swing arm that was damaged in transit. I should have just said no to it when they told me about that.

Wonder if more than the swingarm was damaged then in transit....or even if it happened in transit!

Indeed, who knows. My dalliance with other manufacturers is destined to be very brief. Could well be back on a blade very soon.

That sucks and must be totally disappointing.
I had considered going for an RSV4 myself. Thank you for keeping me honest.
I think when new bike time comes it will be a 22/23 blade.

    That's a shame.

My RSV4 seemed like it was put together pretty well, although it wasn't around for long.

As @Lozzy said, wonder if it's been damaged.

Well if it was going to happen at all it's best it was now, there'll be no arguments about taking it back - well none you can't shove back in their faces. Disappointing though.

I was hoping for great things from it given how well received it is in the press and from other owners. I was singularly unimpressed but maybe the oil leak is a visible symptom of some deeper problem.

I can press for a full refund under the distance selling regulations as well as the fault within 30 days clause of the Consumer Rights Act 2015, so I hope they cough up pretty quickly.

Ah that's pretty bad luck mate, hope you get it sorted quickly! Its not just the bike though......you've now had to piss about returning the bike and now the stress of waiting for a refund. You just don't need that shit!!

To be fair to the dealer they have been good so far. If the bike is a lemon then it isn't their fault. At least, I'm prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt. The next few days will be the acid test.

The refund for the RSV4 has been agreed. I could have pressed for a full refund but I agreed to a small depreciation charge to get it sorted quickly. I've already put a deposit on a 2020 RR-R SP. Looking forward to getting back on a Honda even though I've only been away for a few weeks. I was considering an S1000RR but tried a friend's M Sport and wasn't impressed.

100 miles on a faulty bike and they want to charge you for depreciation? I'm curious how much but it's not my business really, but the matter irks me.
