I'll be in Inters with No Limits.
This is a £99 day. Probably the cheapest track day all summer.

I’m gonna check calendar. Maybe I can get my trailer sorted by then.

Good value at £99. I have just booked on it. Fingers crossed for a dry day.

Well, having a great day at Mallory until I ended up on my side after the hairpin. Bugger. It was the sixth session and I had been round the hairpin 30 times at least with no issues. Great track though and apart from a minor hiccup, I really enjoyed it.

That’s a shame. Did you figure out what happened?

One of the spectators at the hairpin, who was a trackday rider, reckons that the footpeg probably dug into the tarmac and unsettled the bike. It makes sense when I look at the footrest, as the pin underneath is scraped and bent, which could of also been caused by the bike going over. I was banked but it didn’t feel any different to the previous sessions. I did have a good look at the tarmac on the hairpin exit on the way out, and there are some grooves that could be consistent with what the spectator thought had happened. I just don’t know.

Sounds thankfully that you are all okay but what of the bike?

Front brake lever snapped, engine casing damaged, foot peg and rear brake arm bent. Exhaust damaged. Plastics damaged but repairable. I think I got off quite light on the repairs as I came off on the slowest part of the track.
Luckily, I can sort the plastics out myself, as I am in the auto body repair trade.

@Edy I'd forgotten you were there. Hope you're ok.
I was in garage 2 in the Inters group. I've a few videos to upload at some point.

I am all good thanks. It was very minor, but a kick in nuts all the same.

Its quite common for the footrest pins to contact the track. Most trackdays riders on road bikes, unscrew and remove the pin. I would definitely say that was your issue. I have in the past advised some riders to remove said pin.
