    Hi everyone,

I'm new here and want to introduce myself to this forum.
My bike is a 2012 SC59, I own it for 2 years now and absolutely love it (it would be silly to sign up to this forum if I didn't ;))

I bought it as a stock road bike but I changed it immediately to track only.
The modifications I have done are to the suspension, chassis, cooling, exhaust and of course a track fairing.
No engine mapping has been done yet, but it is on the menu for this year.

Almost all of my track days are done in France, both the small and the big circuits.

The bike has been painted with rattle cans in RC30 / John McGuinness - TT Legends colours but with a personal twist
    Here's 2 pictures:

On the next one I added some more stickers

    Thanks for the warm welcome!

Well it does, but only because there's a layer of 2K varnish on top ;), the other colours are indeed done with rattle cans except for the gold, which is striping tape

I agree, it looks a lot better. And because it is an HRC-style tankcover, it is probably better for track riding but I can't say for sure because this is the only one I've used.
But at the moment it is the only piece of the fairing that is repairable, because I crashed doing about 200 km/h - 125 mph (rider OK)
Even the front mudguard is in pieces and even the brackets behind the fork tubes are bent. :(

So I still have a few things to do before the season starts!!

glad alls ok mate and lived to tell the tale, sounds like you got lucky as the one I have has the repairs visible inside but being from Jonny Rae’s last ten Kate blade I’d imagine was going a lot quicker

Sweet looking bike! And to have a piece of Jonny Rae's bike on there makes it that extra bit more special!

In the beginning of the 2024 season there were two guys set up close to where we were on the paddock.
One of them rode an R1 in 2023 Kyle Ryde livery, even though I knew he wasn't Kyle Ryde, I asked him: 'Kyle Ryde I presume?';)
He said: 'No, but he did sign the tank cover!' and there it was, signed with a golden paint marker! Nice!!

On the last day he said he had a painful left shoulder, but continued to ride (and he was a proper fast rider)
In one of the slowest left hand corners of the track he suddenly lost all strength in his left arm and just fell off his bike (rider OK)
But his bike rolled a couple of times and the whole fairing was destroyed.

I'm guessing he wasn't feeling all that well when Kyle Ryde took the title in the final race at Brands Hatch....

Ah well, it's just one of those things, I guess...

I have my last bike mapped by omg racing and what a job they did, will be gaming my current 1299 there also. If you’re anywhere near Stafford I’d highly recommend them mate.

got that tank cover in a box now as I wrote that bike off,

I have been told that it makes a world of difference, especially at small throttle openings.
Mine always gives a little kick when I first open the throttle while I'm in a turn, it's not quite what you want at nearly full lean.

Apparently it has to do with it being set up too rich for street use.
A mate has got a 2016 SP (track only but not mapped) and he doesn't have that problem, probably because the bike is tuned differently, I know the SP has about 3 extra horses or so.

I believe a remap should give the SC59 some 20 bhp more at the wheel, hopefully that will help to keep the gap smaller between me and another mate on some of the longer straights.
He rides the other type of 1000rr, the German one!!

Anyway, I'm a little too far away from Stafford as I am on the other side of the channel ;)
I know a good tuner whom I trust completely, but thank you for letting me know!
