Chaps, I'm booked in for a little warm up at Brands on Wednesday 7th March. Its only the Indy circuit so if any first timers want to dip their toe in the water - this is the perfect place to start. maybe see you fools there innit.
Roughly how many laps do you get out of a novice track day, it broken up into segments or one long go kind of thing.
twenty min sessions starting usually at 9 am with a hour break at 1pm..... i think "No Limits" do fast then intermediate then novice........"Focused Events" other way round i think ? laps will depend on how many you can do in 20 mins ? take Mallory just over one min or so a lap ? 15/ 18 laps in a session ?? 7 sessions a day (finish at 5pm)........100 laps or more in a day ?
At Brands the R77 is fine even without the baffle (mine registered 102db) but i'd bring it just in case. Brands the laps are short, hence a great place to start and easy to learn. Novices will probably run 1:10's around there so you'll get a fair few laps in.
Just found this interesting news of changes to Brands Hatch... dont think it will be ready for Wednesday dont worry Major alterations to Brands Hatch approved - Motorcycle news : Racing news - Visordown
Mallory is similar being a small track..... your doing well if your under a min as its 54 sec for the bsb superbike boys and they put extra bend in to slow em down ! lol my akro failed without baffle so i put it back in to get the pass sticker then took it out a bit later to pose ! lol
New layout looks cool! Didnt know this was in the pipeline. It will certainly add some much needed interest to the Indy layout. Although, i can't see the left side of the tyre getting much action on this new layout.. at least the old GH bend you were pinned on the throttle on the left side.. this looks like more R/H tyre wear to me while exiting the 'chicane' Also from memory, this new corner looks like it will be going back uphil again which is nice as the old one was soooo easy to outbrake your self on! (experienced it several times.. doh!)
I was wondering the same thing, would like to see some pics. It must have been very wet, it pee'd all day where I was just the other side of the dartford crossing.
yes, sadly it p1ssed down all f**king day - even though both days either side have been lovely. typical. I didnt even bother turning up to be honest. Thats the 2nd TD this year i've had to abandon
Shame, nevermind next time hey... hopefully its not snowing or something , god knows its possible, I went to a BSB race at Brands in April some years ago and there was 3 inches of snow, 30 days later when they rescheduled it i was sitting in 32 degrees sunshine... mental
