Smiler - you don't know how true that is. Half way down the bloody thing came off, it hit me on the back, so I stopped and ran back to pick it up. 100yds looks close by but try running up a mountain in full leathers !!
Hi Bongo, actually mate it wasn't the best road we found. Too many tight hairpins, lots of 1st gear and slipping the clutch - pain the backside. Views from the top made it worthwhile though
Abv, Spooky. We went October last year, when did you go? We cheated and loaded the bikes into a van, did the whole trip down in one day. Had a blast there and loaded them up when finished. One day to get back too. French police now that's another story..........
That was end of August last year. I rode the whole, way met up with a couple of mates live near the Ring then down to Saint Raphael and back. The bike didn't make it all the way home unfortunately. What happened with the French police ? A brief encounter with the German police cost me €530 !
Got caught speeding. First day of holiday and the battery went flat, helmet broke, boots broke and stopped by the Gendarmarie doing 130 in 90 zone. 4 rozzers (3 men and 1 woman). They took the piss out of her while she booked me. Saying she spoke English like a Spaniard!! They said if they put my real speed down then they would have to crush the bike........ Didn't know if they were joking or not. My only French swear word is Merde so I said it and they laughed. They also laughed as they took 90 euros off me before sending me on my way.
Hiya Brian I was in LeTouquet this morning and the local Gendarmarie where taking great a interest in my car for some reason, I assumed they were looking for a easy fine we stayed put in the cafe till they buggered off. You would think they had a longer memory and be a bit more grateful.
Hiya David, what are you doing over Easter? I'm busy Friday and Saturday, fancy a ride out Sun or Mon?
Sounds good subject to the weather, what about dinner with partners at the Old Bridge or pub grub somewhere in-between?
