What does it do?? Sorry if it's a stupid question, but just wondering? I've got a '10 plate but I would have thought I was using it........unless I need one too!

It allows the power commander to control the fuelling at certain low range revs, otherwise the bike takes over and uses it's own map at those points. If you use a pc you should fit one of these.

Cheers mate, the next question is, do I need a PC?? I've got a Racefit straight through system, I'm having the bike Re-mapped tomorrow. I've asked the same question to a few people and have had mixed responses. The fact that the dealership told me that it wouldn't make a noticeable difference kinda put me off!! Maybe he meant it wouldn't improve my sub standard riding!!!

You don't need it, but the fuelling won't be optimised without a map which suits all your intake and exhaust modifications.
WORST case scenario is that the bike runs very lean, resulting in engine damage.

If you email Dynojet with your serial number from the PCV, they will sell you one. Cost is around £20.

I have one. Dynojet UK wont sell them unless you have a PC distributed by them as they like to corner the market.
Despite the total rubbish above what they actually do is trick the ecu into leaving the fuelling alone. If you are running on a steady throttle below (around) 40% the ecu will lean off the mixture to cut emissions and save fuel. That would be OK if you didnt have a power commander. If you look at a PC map you will see numbers. Those numbers show mow much richer (+ numbers) or leaner (- numbers) the power commander is altering the fuel as a percentage of the ecu map. CLearly the ECU leaning off its instructions will affect the fuelling quite dramatically and can leave the bike running unevenly as the fuelling you spent £300 odd to get optiomised is no longer optimised. The haywire fuelling can also as one thread stated cause an fi light flash. Fitting to o2 will ensure the fi light fault wont come on. It would take very very lean fuelling to cause engine damage in the short or medium term however if you are running too lean you will seee excessively white deposits on the end can and you will also notice that the temp gauge will show the temp quite a bit higher than normal with the fan on and off constantly. Normally most bikes ill run low to mid 80's. An excessively lean bike will run high 80's and above. Lean means more oxygen leading to higher exhaust temps and eventual exhaust valve damage.
OK.... Sorted.... I have a new o2 sensor eliminator £20 delivered.
