So has anybody used a Wacom tablet ?

I'm struggling with layer masks an using my track pad to mask stuff in and out .

With my staff discount I can get the pen only Banboo for 40 quid .

I was thinking about trying the cheaper Bamboo and then looking at an intuos which I also get a food discount on

    Thoughts ??

    And thanks in advance

I'm in a strange place on this one mate as I sell the damn things but don't get on with them at all. I've got a couple of the Cintiq 24's but I can't use them for normal photoshop stuff. I suppose it's years and years of using a mouse to do the work. Of course, I'm talking about a proper mouse here, not those wanky apple ones. The thing I find the Wacom best for is image restoration, rebuilding a picture pixel by pixel, like when I had to take that picture of baby Givover out of the zoo and paste him into the street like a human boy. Then, the Cintiq really comes into its own, but I still struggle with a normal pad. I think it's the remoteness, from what the hand and the eye is doing. At home I uses a gaming mouse for photoshop with as many of the shortcuts as possible programmed into it for speed. I'm not allowed to do the same at work because of "not invented here" syndrome. For £40 it's worth a play but, personally, I don't get on with them.

My advice. Dont use a track pad, buy a decent mouse.

Sound advise Ken , I was so bored in work today that I asked for a price and got a pen only Bamboo for 38 quid.

I was happy till I hit home and tried it. It's weird trying to use it but look at the screen .

I keep trying to scroll with it but it doesn't work like that . I keep having to look at where my hand is holding the own in relation to my screen soni think it's actually slowing me down at the moment .

Oh well , I'll give it a fair go I guess
