I have the opposite issue: due to a seat cover getting hold of the plastic is a nightmare without flexing it slightly to get a finger behind it....

Don't own a pair but know a fair few people that do. You may have to alter them slightly to get them to fit; bolt holes may need drilling out...
Issue is the quality control, quality of raw materials, quality of end product, research and development etc. You could end up with a solid pair...
