Changed mine in 20 minutes, then spent another 20 mins cleaning the linkages and bearings whilst at it ... its really simple.

Bobbins just about rotate but very stiff ... can't see any heat spots on the discs no. Will post a picture.

Possibly due to brake pads bedding in again? After disturbance? Won't a disc issue with variable DTV cause pulsing at lever? I don't get any...

Yes they are ... the brake buttons are cleaned every wash. They are Brembo ORO discs if that makes any difference which I think are full floating?...
