started a job and wished I hadn't bothered today, the inner air intake trim on l/h was fitted poorly into the outer so had to remove, warm the fixing to straighten it and refit Firstly I take my hat off to the Japanese man who designed that feat of engineering in those trim clips I have got it looking right, but when I got the fairing loose there was a vacuum valve which sits in the top of the air intake trunking that was just loose, so I lifted it out to find it should clip onto the flap in the intake, but for the life in me I couldn't get it connected, even at the end looking down the intake with a long screwdriver the best I could do is wedge the flap open with the valve rod Questions 1. Does it matter that it just wedges that left hand air intake flap open, I may be able to get it on with a bit of bent welding rod 2. Somebody has blocked off the T Piece in the vac pipes where the join just under the headlamps, any idea why? 3. How the hell do you get to the screw that sits under the air intake to allow you to get the fairing off See pics
have a search for air intake flapper mod.. its a common mod that people do to their bikes to remove the flap that Mr Honda fitted to remove noise etc..
