That blokes a quiet, unasuming, 5 fookin TT wins in a row (full-house never bin dun before!) HERO. Wish I could say the same about that extreeeemly irritating 'spotlight grabbing, self publisizing, non-entity' Guy wots-his-name.

To tell you the truth Nicko I don't mind Guy Martin he's funny at times and a character but who I can't stand is Jorge Lorenzo he is a total arse!!! Stephen Davison spoke how Rossi was so in awe of the TT racers and really took part in all the celebrations where as Lorenzo said he was tired and decided to go for a nap! Totally snubbing everyone (because he basically thinks he is the Best racer in the world and the TT racers and fans are not worthy of his presence) He has won the MotoGp Championship twice the 1st time Rossi broke his leg & 2nd time stoner broke both ankles both his main competitors and basically handed to him

Fair comment Trev. Perhaps I am being a bit harsh and breaking my own rule of not critisizing anyone who has achieved something I myself am incapable of. Any rider who has competed on 'The Island' is member of 'A Breed Apart' in my eyes. However, me and some mates went to see that film 'Closer to the Edge' and, whilst watching it, it soon became obvious that the film company had backed the wrong 'horse', as it were. The thing is, films are planned anything up to two+ years prior to the start of filming and no producer can see that far into the future and by the time camaras actualy start to roll an awful lot of money has already been spent. I imagine the idea of a documentary was pitched to the backers with the idea of hitching their wagon to Guy Martins' rising star. But once the film-crew got to 'The Island' and race week got under-way, it must have dawned on the director (Richard De Aragues) down to the humblest runner that, while they're mostly following some Prima Donna around and trying to make much of him and a mug of tea (TEA! for Godsake) the real hero is (caught in a few seconds of 'footage'), in the background, quietly going about the business of making history. I apologise if it seems I'm banging on a bit too much about this but Ian Hutchinson has seen some great 'highs' and some truly terrible 'lows' (Silverstone 2010?) but never, as far as I'm aware, brags or complains so I like to BANG the drum for him. OK, I'll get me coat.:D
Hey! Ride safe, but Ride Hard, Nick.

Hi Duncan it was at Rothes Halls in Glenrothes mate!
It was an excellent night Steve Davison & Hutchy made it! But Berry & Jeffreys were just annoying! Hutchy worked for Jefferys when he was 15yrs old as a Saturday boy and Jefferys didn't show the respect that Hutchy deserves playin down his wins and his injury! Jefferys banged on about racing Foggy and almost severing his foot in an off which didn't cause any problems strutting his stuff around the stage! And there Hutchy sittin there with a cage holding his leg together but it was really interesting :)

Hutchy was a gem of a guy! He's very funny he swore quite a bit not to Berry's liking but he had the place laughing there heads off but to be fair to Guy Martin the film makers ask Hutchy if he would star in the film but Hutchy turn them down flat! He said you can't win races and do a film at the same time! Your attention has to be 100% on the racing and he let us into a secret most of the filming he done was after the accident and they had to pan out so not to show his caged leg!
In his words tho he was totally Fucked after the famous 5 wins and got the first flight home after the Senior race with no celebrations he just wanted home to England anywhere in England he was just desperate to get home! It was a crackin night Nicko :D

Thanks Trev , must have been a cracking night. If I had known about it I would have tried to come along. Hutchy is a legend and seems a very down to earth guy. I hope he comes back but I seriously doubt it.
