    Hi,

Heading out to South of France in August - and needed some base layers to wear under my clothes..

Guessing it will be VERY hot in August - and the trip is for 7 days - would you suggest i buy multiple base layers? as they would be full of sweat and smell by end of day

Any thoughts? as i was thinking of buying these?

Layers All Year Mens Pants - Base Layers/Thermals - Accessories

Layers All Year Long Sleeve Men Top - Base Layers/Thermals - Accessories

unsure how different this is from the one above

To be honest any base layer can be used as motorcycle and sports ones are basically the same, beauty of them are that you can easily hand wash them and they will be dry by the next morning

Sports direct do loads and probably cheaper than so called motorcycle ones and do the same job, you could probably get away with 2-3 sets

I use Nike Dri-Fit Combat Pro for summer, Aldi Motorcycle base layers in early spring/late autumn, and EDZ/Cold Killer base layers in the winter. If I want/need extra warmth I have an EDZ Innershell shirt and leggings.

+1 for Aldi/Lidl base layers. I think they have some compression-fit running gear in Aldi next week - is that not the same thing? £3.99 - bargain!

I'm same as Barstewardsquad except for the Aldi stuff. I use the Nike combat gear in summer and EDZ in winter with the EDZ windproof shell which is awesome.

The base layers wash really easily each night and dry quick so shouldn't need many of them really

Well, you might be surprised but I found that CCC (Cantenbury Long Sleeve HOT for a mere £10 at Amazon) base layer DID NOT smell by end of a hot day, during my Alpine trip last year (June). And if you wash it in the evening, it will be like new the next morning. I also use Forcefield base layer which is equally good (excellent in fact), but comes with the £45 price tag.
    Both highly recommended

I wouldn't agree that. I have several base layers for skiing (designed to keep me dry and warm), which I tried during motorcycle trips during the summer... and I thought they were good.
BUT after trying base layers specifically designed for the 'summer use', I can tell there is a difference ;)

I use the Aldi stuff too. You cant go wrong at the price (1/3 of what that stuff you put up is)
I also find Oxford quality quite shit in general. Tank bags are generally rubbish, my mate had a back pack that lasted about a month and I bought some LED indicators that lasted the one week trip to the TT before they were hanging off.
I won't buy anything Oxford again

I was only on about summer base layers, pointless wearing a winter one for seven days in August ;)

+1 for the Aldi sets, I took 3 sets of summer and 2 winter as weather looked bad for a trip in May to Mugello and yes i took too many sets.

I'd take one set, maybe a spare and wash n dry a set each night, but use the backup if arrive late n can't be bothered .

Another one here vouching for Forcefield base layer. Cream of all base layers I'd say although they are expensive! As long as they last and give me good service I'll be happy.
