I'm the first to admit it, I'm a bit ancient (Rossi+1 as i like to say...47 to you), and only just stumbled on pinlock visors...OMG how long have these been available? No more holding your breath to stop the visor fogging up, or breathing through your nose, effin amazing! No need to rub lemon juice or to cut a spud in half and rub on the inside of my visor. What a god send! Ecstatic rant over.
Lol 47 ain't ancient ...If it is then I must be prehistoric Can't believe you've only just found pinlocks, I've got them in all my visors they're ace
I was a bit slow to cotton on to Pinlock too... was using "FogTech" wipes for years, which although very good, cannot beat Pinlock.
then you wont know about the Progrip version. Fog free and darkens in sunlight!! Stuck on rather than the pins so zero chance of moisture entering between the visor and insert.
Do you have a link of where to buy these? I didn't like the pinlock on my Shark helmet so binned it, a replacement would be good.
When Pinlocks first came out no visors had the posts fitted. You had a kit that consisted of a drill bit and some concentric posts. You lined up the Pinlock, mark it then drilled. The concentric posts then took up any slack. I would imagine you could still get such kits so don't bin good helmets or visors because they haven't got the posts fitted. Of course that should be eccentric not concentric.
I'm mistaken they're Fine Vision inserts (made by Pinlock I believe) The are stuck down and have cut outs to accommodate failed pins see here for my review http://www.1000rr.co.uk/threads/new-pinlock-insert.14447/#post-227238 feck me just checked the price less than £6 including postage!! the Pinlock equivalent is much more pricier
They do, they're called contact lenses, I changed to them a few months ago as I saw the benefit of Pinlock in the lid and then it was only the specs that fogged. Bin the specs and everything becomes clear....
I was going to do the whole laser thing but then I watched how it was done and it made me feel sick......
