As far as I was aware they where made by Frank Thomas and branded BKS by a deal done with Brian. I have heard a few people rate them but no idea in a off

I inherited a set of ex police BKS leathers made to measure for a friend of mine while in the job. He's about the same size as me and boy, do they fit well. The different cut for made to measure is so noticeable. I have to say, the armour is a bit sparse on them. The only problem with them is they bloody stink. Been up in his loft for years and short of putting them in the washing machine, which I am forbidden to, apparently, I've run out of ideas.

Yea thanks ken, have heard they are a great fit.. But pushing towards 2 grand not sure I can justify it for just sunny day blasts, I can buy the off the peg suit for £550 and I know a fantastic lady who will alter it to suit for another £100..
But I am really tempted bt the made to measure ...decision..decisions

Go with made to measure, have had the same set for 12 years, cost £1600, just spent £700 getting panels replaced & they have come up like new, excellent product with great service.

I bought my made to measure about 6 years ago and cost me a bomb. Upgraded the Armour and roo leather. Worth every penny but saying that I like my Dainses 2 piece that cost me less than talk the price.

Depends how deep our pockets are. Also if BKS is at Motorcycle live pop over and have a talk with them.

I bought my first BKS suit back in 2000. it arrived just before a 2k trip round France and fitted perfectly and was great. Its getting a bit tatty now, so went to see Brian again recently and ended up getting another one. The options available now are far greater than they were 14 years ago, and so the costs can be a lot more! However the fit, finish and protection are better than anything you will get off the peg. My new ones have taken a bit longer to get used to, mainly because of the extra and stiffer protection - and ermm cos I may have put on a bit of weight!

But if you do go, be sure you do know what you want, its very easy to add on extras that you may not need, but they do look good ;-)

I have done over 120k miles in my old suit, but as its vented I still prefer to use it when its 20c or above, the materials in the new one seem keep the heat in more.

Book an afternoon off, get yourself over to Exmouth you will not regret it.

I got mine fully vented and agree it's not great when colder but when it's warm it's lovely.

Mine was about £1300 before I added extras, and in the end came to £1900!! but 6 years on fits perfect, added lots of miles with it on and still in great condition.

best Email them about prices before you look at going to see if it's in your price range and worth your time. you may get some idea on prices from min to max if you get me

I've had an off the peg BKS Silverstone one piece suit for nearly 5 years now. Crash tested it a few times on track and it's still holding up well just some light scuffing, no stitching has ever come undone.

I think the BKS Leopard was the model up from the Silverstone. I'm not sure they actual still make the off peg range.

As others have said these are not the same as the made to measure BKS but I think they're better quality than the Alpinestar two piece suit I use on road.

Had my BKS off the peg suit since 2009, when I bought it from who must of been Brian at the London show (think that's when they were doing the deal with FT)

Great suit, done at least 60k in it with no issues. The only reason I'm not wearing it is because I've put on weight and can't get into it any more. Which is why I persoanlly wouldn't buy a made to measure, as soon as you gain or lose anything it's no longer made to measure.

I have an off the peg 2 piece. Got them second hand off ebay for £300.

They were a year old when I bought them and I've had them about a year.

The bits that matter are great quality but all of the zip toggles have snapped off

They are a lot warmer than my Alpinestars leathers as they are a lot less vented which in this country is normally a good thing.
