Cheers mate will remove it as got big hands anyhow! Where is you biting point is how far from bars? to get mine half way ive got to adjust it but then there is no free play on the lever at the box which is not good!! Fooking good 150 notes spent here aarrgghh looks good like!
Just re read the steve and what you saying is the grub screw ie span adjuster works it way out so the lever dont return fully? this would mean its like the clutch is on been pulled!! now that screw is what 5mm therefore you got no free play also!! Go grab the clutch lever it you should be able to easily move it ie free play not in contact with clutch bet you cant!!!!
you are right Bats - i have got free play but the bite is not far off the bars. It must be the point between the pivot and cable stay is less than the stock one and causes less cable travel. You got my meaning about the grub screw spot on.
I just phoned Harris Performance to tell them of this issue. They have given me the designers details. Just phoned him but he is in Assen until Monday. I told his opo of the issue and I will call them back on Monday. I will keep you posted.
Brilliant you don't get better customer service than that do you ! Hold on I will just put you in touch with the designer lol
Yes mate - very immpressive. Just hope he sorts it OK. The guy at Harris said maybe it will need a new design perch.
just had a quick measure of the centres. Brembo is 22mm Stock is 34mm No wonder we have issues - we just dont have enough cable travel
Fiddled with mine a bit adjustment wise and quite like it now, but i like the bite point close to the bar ..... was the perch aimed at the blade ? Or gsxr etc
Right well ive mangaed to get nice free play and my bite further from bars if he does another perch design then hopefully they will honor a swap! Any here is all i did with a file took off about 5 mm And here it is All nice and mactching haha
Spoke to the designer today. He is looking into it and will get back to me. I informed his of the pitch difference between stock and brembo. He did say the already use them on race bikes without an issue, but i guess it wouldn't be as big an issue if your not at standstill using the clutch like a road bike. I have told him there are others on here with the same issue, so i will keep you informed.
Update. Spoke to Mode Performance again today. They are having a rapid prototype made with a 34mm pitch (same as stock). As soon as it it in, they will send it to me to test. If all is well, they will produce the production items. We will then have to send our originals back for exchange for the modified ones. I will keep you posted.
Brilliant news Steve, thanks for all your hard work sorting this out, glad they agree there is a problem as it is becoming more noticeable to me now and annoying me !!
