Hi, Two mates have these tyres on the bikes Blackbird and ZZ1400. Seems as if plenty of tread is left, but both rear tyres are showing a light line running around the circumference, just left of centre. Is this a wear indicator, or something else. we have all guessed, does anyone know? ..... Thanks, . Mike.
Not sure to be honest mike. I just took this picture of mine, tyre only done 200 miles. The line is evident both sides "although not shown in picture"
Found this on M&P site Please note: After prolonged use in a straight line the BT-023 tyres are showing a line down the centre of the tyre (both front and rear) covering the whole circumference of the tyre. This line is the anti static strip. This is used to decrease the electrical activity created by the extra silica used in the tyres and could appear regularly after long motorway / upright riding stints. If the tyres are used on general A roads (small amount of upright use) then the line is likely to not appear and could also disappear as the riding environment changes. This is a design element within the tyre and there is / are no concerns with handling etc.
