Good news. I feel (right or wrong) that the bridgestone are not doing a good job or providing tyres that will last the whole of the race. Not just yam factory team. I dislike the single tyre maker rule and would rather see a race where people can use what they want. But also see bikes that don't do 10 laps then have to slow down or fall off. Look at last years fiasco with tyres only lasting 10 laps then having to come in and change bikes
Pirelli in F1 and Bridgestone in MotoGP work to a spec/requirement developed by the organising body. Not surprised they announced walking before another incident like last year. I doubt it will go back to free tyre manufacturer choice for the teams though as Dorna probably make a pretty penny from operating it as a franchise.
I like the single tyre situation. Doesn't really bother me which company it is as long as they supply tyres that will last the length of the race under proven specifications/conditions. If we go back to free tyre choice then we'll also go back to the situation of the teams who can afford to pay the most money getting the best tyres/development...
But Dunlop couldn't supply tyre options that could last out the whole race in moto2 either, so to single out Bridgestone as not being able to supply a product that's fit for purpose is a bit harsh when other suppliers products can't cope either!
