I use threadlock (Loctite) when I fit/remove mirrors/pillion pegs etc after track days. Cleaning the bolts is easy as I just use a nut, but how can I clean the socket part without using a tap? I don't want to use a tap as I am a bit heavy handed at times and would prefer it if there was some chemical or something I could use.

Cellulose Thinners would get a Pikey out of a field....... But be careful what you get it on.

A brass pipe brush will help get most out, like out of an old weapon cleaning kit :)

Damn, wish I hadn't been so glad to dump the SLR cleaning kit as soon as I could. Don't know any friendly armourers do you?
