Hi, I was riding a high mileage 2015 blade at the weekend and if it was given a big right hand the revs would rise very quickly but the bike wouldn’t transfer that to speed…. Felt like a clutch slip.

This was new to me. Is this common on these blades? Clutch free play seemed good with 5mm or so movement before engages tension on clutch. I believe oil was changed recently and looks clean.

like I say, it’s high miles so I wouldn’t be surprised if clutch worn. What kind of job is it on these please and anything else to be looking out for?

    thanks

If you have plenty of play left on your clutch cable then your clutch plates are likely worn. I wouldn't say it's a common problem, but with lots of power and miles it's just one of those things.
It's doable, but I've only changed them on an older bike.
