Ha ha! I wish.... We were around the 9 min mark mate after 4 laps. But I went through the grass on the s bend on my second lap so put me on edge a bit lol. I recon with a few days out there and some more laps 8.30 is a good target, but another minute and twenty second! Jeez.... That's a fella called Andy I think. Will watch later. Someone on here knows him Obviously he's on an old R1, but has moved over there to dedicate himself to the ring! That's the power of it lol
Quite a useful thread this as myself and 5 others are at the ring for two days next year on the way back from the Italian GP. Staying here: Sliders Guest House Cant wait..
I went to the ring a couple of years ago and stayed at sliders the road to the ring from sliders is fantastic we had a great time can't remember the owners name but rumor has it he was the red Barron from PB magazine and did hold the unofficial lap record ( he has some great stories) just don't go to the local pub with him in his belingo he will scare you shit less he knows the roads like the back of his hand the ring is fantastic but the roads around the ring are even better enjoy but treat the ring with respect it will bite !!!!!!
Andy Carlile a great bloke and cooks a good breakfast. We were at a hotel the night before doing Spa when we got a text saying he'd just done a 7.10 lap. He came to Spa the next day and fell off first lap out ! The Ring is a fantastic place but needs to be treated with respect. It's not a track day. Pics from a few years ago, love the eyes and back wheel of the ground in the first one View attachment 16225
