Evening Chaps... Would anyone have a link to a lesson in how to disconnect connectors properly, in particularly a 2P connector like what goes to rear brake switch and lambda sensor etc.. Dunno if I'm just being retarded but I'm fed up of sitting there digging away with a little screw driver and not really getting anywhere.. Ive popped them before and can't remember how but i think i just got lucky ! Cheers G
Most Bike Connectors require Snip Nosed Pliers to bend a locating tag inwards which then allows the plug to be pulled out. There are all sorts of designs around but most follow this general principle. Search on Youtube
I did try the youtube search mate but couldn't find this sort ! I think a little retardation was involved too coz I've just been back and had a go and it jumped straight apart... Trouble is it seems to need 3 tags depressed at the same time ! A bit of wiggle wiggle got it tho... Cheers guys
G, push the screwdriver into the bottom open centre piece (White plug) and just push down about 5mm.. pull the lead out the bottom. They are quite often stuck together with crud etc, so a spray of WD40 all over the bottom of the plug and leave for 5 mins should help
I find if you push the plug together before/as your pressing the release clip helps as it takes the pressure off it and let's the tab come out of it's latch. Always seems to help on cars or bikes.
The first time is always the worst - the electrical plugs under the fuel tank stymied me for quite a while For all the electrical plugs, its all about technique, not brute force
