I'm still reeling today after the devastating news of Simon Andrews! Feeling is much the same as when Simoncelli lost his life also doing what he loved! Both lovely guys full of life and so much to live for! But I can't help feeling disgust for Michael Dunlop! The guy just boils my piss!!!.... If accusing John McGuinness of sabotaging his Superbike at last year TT wasn't a show of immaturity and petty mindedness his threats toward his brother William after beating him at the NW200 superbike race was shocking and an all time low! You could see that William is obviously intimidated by him with his nervous laugh as he was interviewed about a brotherly handshake for that fat twat to turn round and threaten him with "do that again" and saying that William needs to show more respect!! Basically for taking him on and winning!!!... Poor William was humiliated on national TV and he stole the joy of his victory and also making sure William doesn't challenge him at the TT or else! Who the fuck does he think he is? Now I know motorcycle racing is no personality contest and there has been and still is characters but that twat takes the biscuit! He is an insult to the Dunlop name who he has ridden on the back of for years! He is nothing like Joey,Robert and William he is an arrogant bully that has no respect for his family! Personality plays a big part in this game and after the devastating loss of Simon Andrews it shows that anyone of those riders could be taken at anytime! And being a genuinely nice bloke and a bit of luck helps to progress in the racing game Shakey,McPint,Hutchy,Rossi and Marquez need I go on? There just no room for twats like MD who are self centered, disrespectful, reckless with his fuck you attitude! If he was my brother the camera man would have been pickin his fat arse off the pavement after his threat!
Hrc trev well put bud I am 100% what your statement puts across about MD what about all the cut ups he's done in his racing!granted a brill rider but he needs some lessons in pr his head will no doubt get even bigger the more he wins !deffo above his station and no too doubt will be less thought of amongst his road racing colleagues ?very sad news about si at least he ain't suffering bless him!thoughts go out to his family and loved ones rip
That's a decent old rant for someone as mellow as you Trev! As a coincidence I have just watched the recorded race and the end was awesome ,I think William out rode Michael and both dudes where fighting hard .Its a shame Michael came over that way but one would imagine the adrenalin was at its peak and therefore perhaps this is what burst out ..Respect to both but perhaps a wee lack of manners?
Mate you've hit the nail on the head there in fact I got into a huge argument on facebook over the weekend with a few bellends on the TT page because they didn't like the fact that I had a dig at MD. Accused me of armchair racing and all that shit to be honest I totally agree MD is a fat pig faced waste of blood and organs and a disgrace to his family name. I have no idea why he has such a big chip on his shoulder but quite frankly if he wants to step into the ring at any point I would gladly oblige. I agree he totally ruined William's victory. Both my wife and I were talking about it last night after watching the highlight show again and I have to say whilst I don't wish MD any harm (because that is just bad karma) I do wish that he never wins another race again and that he lives a long life never winning anything again because he doesn't deserve to. I really want McG to smash the Dunlop record as I know that will boil MD's piss and that will make me mega happy.
Micheal Dunlop. great racer but otherwise seems a total twat. Thought this for a few years and hoping he's lost a lot of fans and may sponsorship in the futre
Yep my thoughts as well Trev thought MD came across as a right twat and a very sore looser I didn't see anything wrong in the way William raced. What action though with josh Brooke's on the grass and Ian Hutchison nearly having a come together then all the other action first time I have watched it and. was brilliant .
Throughout the history of sport we've had massively driven competitors, some to the blinkered focus of high functioning sociopath. Mcenroe, Higgins, Renaldo. even, and I have to say it, controversial or not, even St Ayrton himself wasn't above publicly spearing an opponent if he didn't get his own way. This will always, always polarise public opinion between those that consider it justifiable with regard to the ends and means equation and those that believe such behaviour is an ill example at best and attempted manslaughter at worse. This will always cause huge arguments between the the two camps regardless. Myself, I belong to the latter group. McGuiness, Wilkinson, Clark, Charlton (R. God forbid not J) were and are greater champions for their humility, their modesty and their example to all. Nice guys don't always lose. In my opinion. And also, in my opinion, Michael Dunlop is a petulant child with a massive chip on his shoulder, his dead uncle, whom he will never equal in results, charm or adulation, and he's just too damaged to even notice. Despite his obvious talent and skill, should I ever have the chance to meet him, I'd move on to shake the hand of somebody more worthy of my recognition. I just don't like him.
Totally agree. I've always hated the fact that the very high echelons of motorsport seem to be populated with what the media likes to call, "very motivated young men" who have an "overwhelming will to win". Or to put it another way "absolute bellends who'd slit their granny's throat to take the top step on the podium" Formula 1 in particular seems to be crawling with them. What makes it even more hateful is that wankers like Eddie Jordan and David Coulthard talk it up like it's the rest of us nice people who have a problem for not being like these egomaniacal horrors with their multi-million pound salaries and watches the size of dinner plates. I like the racing but I don't like the ethos that it's OK to be a complete c*nt so long as you're fast. I always thought that the TT was one of the last refuges of the decent racer. People who shared a sense of camaraderie because of the beast that they were facing. For that reason I never liked MD. Dunlop or no Dunlop. I always find myself cheering for Bruce Anstey because he seems like a nice bloke.
The comment was a bit OTT imo but alot of whats being said in here is pretty shocking too. I was reading alot of FB arguments about this over the weekend and Sam Dunlop (cousin of..) laid down some pretty good points which ill try to dig out if I can. I wouldnt take all this too serious between them, after all.... it was MD who ran WD on his 250 for years and MD who was the only one to run onto the track at the cookstown to tell WD that he was being beaten from the 2nd wave after TAS managed to not realise. They're just brothers with alot of rivalry who were both raised by Robert under the mantra of "P2 is the first loser" I appreciate it comes across so much worse when the stark reality of what has happened to Si Andrews has come to light but all this happened before the stocker race even left the grid.
Sorry dude but I don't buy "it's just banter between brothers" malarky. Bottom line is take the NW200 out of it for a 2nd you can't honestly say that you really believe that McG actually sabotaged MD's bike at the TT last year do you? Personal opinions are always different and everybody is entitled to them this was the reason that I had a row over the weekend about it because I say something that somebody else doesn't like does not make me an armchair racer I wouldn't mind but I don't even have an f'in armchair. I don't like MD end of story never have done since seeing his little "They wanna play ball they can play with me I'll push anyone to their bitter end" speech on the TT3D DVD. That to me is not the mark of a champion, people's or otherwise that is the mark of a lunatic who in his own words would happily cause somebody else pain to win and unless I see a retraction on that statement from MD where he apologizes for it and actually explains that to the contrary that he really is a decent lad and wishes everybody well in racing I will continue to think he is nothing other than a fat chunt....
Can I just say, as someone who was actually there on the day, that Michael and William were interviewed by the circuit radio commentary team just after the TV interview, in fact you could hear the radio guy telling Stephen Watson to get out of the way so that the fans could hear from the winners, both brothers were absolutely fine with each other, and at the start of the interview the commentator asked michael what he'd just said to William and then explained to the listeners that it was all being said with a smile on their faces. I went for a stroll in the paddock shortly after the races had finished and saw both of them together, no grief between them.
Strong words from nick ,soleth but I agree an element of truth on what the man says, and yes everyone has there own opinion or we would not be able to discuss this in a gentleman fashion.yes no doubt MD is a brill talent at what he does but a lot of his comments are out of order,he should have been the first to shake Williams hand after the 1st super bike whether they are brothers or not ,not eticate there ,you certainly would not see mcg or majority of the others go on like that.he needs some lessons in pr and he may get respect from his colleagues as well as his fans because without the likes of us the public he would be nothing
He comes across as a complete big headed cock at times........ The "Dunlop" legacy reigns true with these boys but on this occasion William was the winner not just for the racing but camera PR too.......... I do love watching the man race though and he ll always be known as one of the greats.... but not for personality !!
I honestly couldn't have said this any better myself! Michael may be a great rider, but would you want to employ him and have him associated with your brand?
Somehow tho mcg ain't 100% fit maybe better 2 weeks to go yet,but something just says that md will come away with a hatful of wins.you might see Mcg retire after simon Andrew incident he ain't got not to prove he has stamped his mark in the Islands legacy and no one could blame him, whatever happens let's just hope all who goes there comes home safe
To think that was Williams first super bike win as well. I was disgusted to see him say that to another rider live on TV, let alone to his own brother. It was a well battled last lap but William didn't do anything untoward, he closed the door on his brother once after overtaking him and it was a firm but fair move. Far fairer than moves Michael has made that weekend. He's a good rider but a F£$cking tube!
