    thanks for the welcomes guys.

I know what you mean Nytol, I was surrounded by motorway in Leeds & it drove me insane. You should make the trip though, you wouldn't be disappointed. the south west is good but the highlands will blow you away

I've been up a few times in the car, when I have had a week to myself.

I love the Highlands, it is one of my favourite places in the entire world, for me there is a stillness, (for want of a better word), that has nothing to do with noise, which makes me feel an inner peace rarely experienced elsewhere.

Did the Dukes pass many moons ago with the Type R forum and it was great, quite a busy road tho. That said bikes cut thru traffic like a hot knife thru butter:D

its a popular road so cop presence concerns me. the roads around me are nearly always empty, which is probably the main reason I haven't bothered with Duke's yet. we were supposed to do it in May on our way home, but we were all done in by that point, so passed by it

I do love the Dalveen Pass.
Usually do that one quite often.
I just don't manage to get out on my bike often enough.
Wife has the 600RR, and we never get out on them together apart from when we have been to the TT.

I will look out for you.

it's a cracking road, we usually add it in to most runs we do south of glasgow. we spent a good 3 hours on sunday going through the leadhills area, I love that whole area, some good bumps to get the bike airborne, just have to watch the sheep.

might catch you on it one day

    Or at dusk, the rabbits.
Just missed a few of those wee things by a bawhair.

I love round about the wife's hometown of Denholm in the borders.
    Some awesome roads there.

    Yeh maybe see you about.
Usually if I see another blade about I will stick it in the spotted section too.

Ah ha. Bit there lies the issue.

I'll be back down by the end of next month, and the road bike is in badly need of stretching it's legs on those there borders roads.

The roads up here are shit to be honest.

Welcome mate! I'm from Ayrshire and love to ride the west coast, some great roads up around the Green Welly, Inverary, Tyndrum etc. I did around 270 miles last weekend with some mates up there, loved it! Might see you next time at the Green Welly.

cheers mate. the west coast is a nice, my mrs loves the ayr to stranraer section, I prefer the tighter roads but we have a great selection in this area.
we tend to do a weekend run in the southern areas then a run up arrochar/inverary the following weekend so aye, might see you at the welly, I'll look out for your bike.

on another note, I've been seeing 2 blades on my way home all week, on the A77 near ayr. An 08+ repsol & 12+ hrc tricolour. anyone here?
