Hey folks Another new face here in the forums. Name is Colin and am from Glasgow. I used to own a Suzuki GSXR 1000 K8 until a few months ago. I wrote her off on a left hand turn when the front end gave way :-( Anyway's I have painstakingly been searching for a bike to replace her and was thinking a Fireblade could be the answer. Is there anything I should know beforehand before I take the plunge Here's some pics of the GSXR before and after I wrecked it
Just watch out for how much faster the Honda will be.. I had a suzuki, albeit a Gixer 600. Welcome aboard by the way.
Hi welcome to the forum mate, Honda's are built to last and would of come out of that with a small scratch lol What year blade are you considering? Plenty of people on here with a wide range of years so you should get the answers you are looking for
Welcome to the forum RamJam. You'll find plenty of information pertaining to the Blade around here to help confirm your making the right decision. Did a right number on the Gixer didn't you mate. Enjoy your time here.
Howdy RamJam, welcome to the forum mate. By the way, have you considered the option of making it into a chopper?........looks like you're halfway there!
Hi mate and welcome to the forum Not much to worry about with the Fireblade to be honest. What year/model are you looking at to buy?
Your not far off with the chopper statement look where the frame snapped in two. I wasn't hurt at all, not even a bruise. I was in full gear of course. Leathers are even ok for another spill. Need a new lid though. Well I test rode a 2012 Blade but to be honest i don't like any of the 2012 or 2013 colour options. Plus what i get back from the insurance company I will have around the 5k or 6k mark to spend on a new bike. I was looking at maybe a 2007 model
proper job that is. good luck with the hunt for a new blade, they are all awesome it doesnt matter which model you choose,
how about these 2007 07 Reg Honda CBR1000 RR7 Fireblade | eBay Honda CBR Motorbike CBR 1000 RR-8 ORIGINAL PRISTINE EXA | eBay

Cool Thanks guys. Am looking for as close to a standard one as i can get so i can them start modding it the way i want. Basically a tidy bike thats not been sha88ed and has less that 15k miles I did have a go on a BMW RR but those are a little out of my price range. Awesome bikes though
Hi fella and welcome aboard For the money you've got you could get a 2008 model which Have some nice colour options I'm with you in the 2012 colours There's nothing that would make me sell my ride
