Hi all! (why do these things always remind me of Miss World interviews?) I'm Mac from North Staffs. and I'm about to take delivery of my first Fireblade within the next week after driving my long suffering wife nuts about getting one for about 5 years. I've ridden a 2004 CBR600F almost from new (nearly 10 years!) and covered just shy of 26K miles on it. Since I'm new to all things Fireblades I expect I'll be here a lot, no doubt asking stupidly obvious questions about ownership for a while. My new ride will be a 2009 CBR1000RR C-ABS version in Repsol colours. And I can't bloody wait for it to arrive! I'll post some pics up once it's here and I can stop grinning enough to pick up the camera My other interests are gadgets, gaming, photography, movies and most motorsports. And finally I'd like to end world hunger, and travel....
All you have to worry about now is the swim suit section and you'll be in. Welcome along Madmac (great avatar by the way), the 600f is a great bike, in my view one of the best all rounders ever, what you'll notice about the Blade is how light it seems by comparison and that you never have to wait for things to happen anymore, it all happens instantly. Enjoy your stay. Ken
Cheers guys As long as the judges don't have wandering hands... I will be very sorry to see the 600F go. It's been absolutely bullet-proof and despite being ridden through 4 british winters early in it's life, it has survived more or less unscathed where I am sure other bikes would have disintegrated. Looking forward to the extra lean 'Blade tho. I rode my mate's Hayabusa recently and was very tempted to get one after getting hooked on the available power, not that I ride like a loon. I just prefer to overtake quickly rather than hang around in the wrong lane. The 'Busa was nice but it's MASSIVE and I just know I'd drop it at some point. The only thing going against the 'Blade was the availability of a decent Repsol for sale and the cost compared to a 'Busa. But the Repsol 'Blade has been my dream bike for quite a while now. Imagine my delight when a Repsol 'Blade came up for sale at the right price. Decision made. Deal done Sod's law that they've gone and changed the Repsol colours of the MotoGP bikes in the same year as I get one tho
