Well what an eventful weekend chaps!! Great to see everyone. So sorry for the 1000rr endurance crew and mad matt for the bad luck. Hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did!!
Was a mixed round for sure... cant believe we didn't make the endurance start but 5 mins after our solo they cut lunch and we simply didnt have time to turn it around, what with two bikes out of four going down... cookies clutch going and my tyres knackered... not happy at all about it tbh... but is what it is... you were flying mate... really pushed on! well done mate. Cookie was going fantastic too... gutted for the other two on a personal note was ok, but had two great last races and battles with the same dude. 1-1 in the end ... struggled on the metz as they were chewing up which was weird, pirelli's were fine again??? times wise i improved on the blade time from a couple of years ago.. which was good and shows the ZX10 has the base there for me to improve on but i'm miles off where i want and think i can be... will take my time though and it'll come together!
Yeah man think that is the right approach and you looked sweet on the new bike. Im wondering if I need to spend 10k on a new bike or perhaps a couple of mods- TC and some stronger brakes and I might just be there
if i'm honest, ive not explored the TC well yet, but it didn't seem to help me... more hold the bike back, but i was glad it was there (if you get what i mean)... the power is something else when it comes on and out the corners, was actually getting a better run and then passing folk on zx10's and bm's on the straight which i struggled with on the blade (specially since the high side). I fancied a change more than anything, the blade is still far better than me as you proved! and i'd say with your weight the power isn't the end of the world... what you gel with? Brakes will help i'm sure... but again my stock blade ones were mint, was my strongest point of my riding when i was going well on it. Sort out a track day and have a go on mine see what you think buddy. a fella at donny a while back was flying on a blade and had the hrc loom and TC - said it was mega and he was bloody fast i tell ya.
Was a great weekend to catch up - I know I'm as useless as a chocolate tea pot when it comes to mechanics but hey, I brought some really good chocolate and crisps so everyone finds their spot. Was absolutely brilliant to see Y.T. in the lead on the final race in Melbourne loop - that flash of orange as you came into view we were all 'OMG he's in first' - Think Wedgie could barely speak at times with nerves. You were so close to a podium - I thought you'd got it when they messages about rider running on at final corner but just wasn't to be - you're the highest position 'Blade by some margin and Donny is a fast and flowing track. You look really comfortable on that Blade, my only thought would be to try and find a Cat B RRE bike with the latest engine / injection etc. as it honestly feels leaps ahead on the road over the earlier ones. I've got a few photos but I'd get flamed for posting them so I'll hold back Roll on Anglesey end of the month and hope to make it over, its a lovely track / venue but I just hope the final race is not timed so late as its miles for some. Might even bring old Trigger up for play if there is a trackday before but it will be full of race folk I bet.
Nice montage al. I am going to try and upload the video of my cup race this week. I think I rode very reservedly but you can all make your own opinions. Cookie, I have reviewed the footage and it was a good move
