I am currently running a leo vince slip on with the o2 plug screwed in to the pipe just before the silencer but have been told it would run better with an o2 eliminator. If so where do they fit. I am changing to a yoshimura r77 next year will this need the eliminator. 3 questions in one go then.
Will it run better with the o2 eliminator than it than it does now with the lambda sensor screwed into the pipe
The only real gain of an o2 eliminator is if fitting a power commander as the eliminator allows custom mapping to be done a must with pc111 usbs
^^^ best done with a PCV or similar. I ran my last CB1000r with a Leo and decat alone and it run OK, good at WOT but at small throttle openings and idle it was all over the place. Also surged a bit at constant throttle. Then fitted an eliminator this solved the surging but again lumpy at idle and slow speeds. It was only when I got a PCV and a custom map I realised how much improvement was to be gained. Only a little increase in peak HP but midrange torque was just amazing! If you suffer from surging at constant speed then the eliminator will help. In areas of closed loop fuelling where the sensor is used you will find the bike will generally run rich so your MPG will suffer
