Oil 10W-30 semi-synthetic, Castrol. Used since new. Never had any problems.

    10w 40 fully syn ...

10w 30 semi syn is minimum spec ... It will do the job but things I never skimp on is oil, tyres and brakes ;)

10/30 is the standard spec for this part of the world, semi or full syn.
It's a personal choice mate what brew you go for.
As far as it works, I have done a 1/4 million miles on Blade engines in the last 15 years, 12 months a year, cold starts, hot starts, commute, tour and track and no issues at all using 10/30 semi Castrol and now Silkolene, every 4k without fail.

10w/30 is thinner so needs a better quality to offer the best protection. 10w 40 is thicker and a good semi will do the job plus bike is less likely to burn oil with a thicker grade, also I find gear shift feels nicer more possitive with a 40 on my bike. I run a good full synthetic 40 on my bike at the moment but did run the Castrol racing semi last year.

Not being pedantic but 10w 30 is only thinner at operating temp ... Just to clarify.
