My RR7 was similar after junking the exhaust valve... its to be expected, the ecu doesn't know the valve has gone.

Power Commander is the only proper solution.

i have been out on bike again anything below 7000 revs and its holding back big style like hitting a rev limiter which you can feel through bike is this because i have took air flapper out ? if so can i put back in and modify it buy drilling a series of holes so it lets some air but not too much like know i think ? any ideas

Can't this be sorted with an ecu reset? I'm sure I read that somewhere

The ecu reset & servo buddy may make a difference (surely servo buddy will just stop FI light from coming on???) but I doubt they'll totally eradicate the problem.

Fact is you've drastically altered how the bike breathes at low-mid RPM (ie when the flapper/valve would normally be restricting flow) without changing fuelling to match.

I lived with my rr7 for a whole year like that... the uncertainty at 4-5000 Rpm, and the way it suddenly came back to life at about 5500 made slow-speed roundabouts a total lottery! Finally fitted a second-hand PCV last month and its like a new bike!

If you're going to mess with how the engine breathes, then you'll never get a smooth bike until you fit a PC/Bazzaz.

ECU reset process is something like start the bike without touching the throttle, leave ticking over still not touching the throttle, when fan kicks in hit the kill switch.

The process is on here somewhere but sadly I can't get the advanced search to work.

    EDIT - Found a link

    Disconnect battery
    Reconnect after at least 10min
Start up the beast without touching the throttle
Let to run until the fan kicks in turns off again
flick the kill switch off then on again

put the servo buddy on and tried the ecu reset but still no difference so i have put the air flaps back on ! i drilled small hole on the retaining bracket and have put a small nut and bolt and locked them off so flapper was 3/4 shut i have been out on it and it seems to have cured it as it tries taking off in all gears from low accelerating to high revs
