Sad sad news. Thoroughly nice guy. Will be a big loss to the sport and a big loss to the tt where I had the pleasure of meeting him last year.
Still can't shake the sad feeling in my gut today. I've not felt this way since Simonchelli died, probably sounds stupid but I've never felt so gutted to lose somebody I have never met. I had seen Simon wandering around the paddock a few times when at BSB testing and so on but never had the pleasure of meeting him although both me and my wife thought after watching the TT Legends series that he seemed like a really nice genuine guy. It was a very strange and somber ride to work this morning what started out as wet and cloudy suddenly cleared and the sun came out and as stupid as it sounds I'd like to think that was Simon helping to make the rest of us bikers lives a joy. Rest in Peace Simon you are sorely missed and I hope that your family and friends are loved and looked after during this difficult time.
