It takes huge balls to ride a bike at the TT at any level, but those dudes hanging off the back of a home made 3 wheeler are fecking crazy!! RESPECT!! Don't get me wrong, given the chance I'd love to try it on the track, and I'm happy ragging a bike on the road (obviously not that quick), but to put that must trust in a rider as a passenger on the TT course is truly brave / epically stupid.... Watching now and trying to get my head round it lol
Winner had half a hedge hanging out his air duct.... Class mate. That close to ground with 40mm of suspension travel, bet that feels fast lol Never said no to anything in my time, have a pretty "fcuk it, what's the worst that could happen attitude" but I know id struggle to get on the back of that thing. Amazing effort by them IMO
The concept of having the throttle pinned 75% of four laps is staggering. I'm stunned those little engines can last that punishment, two up!
Not for me as well .I have a guy on my site who used to drive and was a passenger around the TT he has mates doing it now called Green Ant Racing .Full respect must be like riding a skate board.
Watched a few at thuxton as you prob know a very fast track! They were barely on the bike they were hanging off that much, we were stoo on the S bend not far from start line and every other bike had its passenger cartwheeling off towards the fence! Best bit is the drivers didn't seem to notice until the next corner lol
There not really my thing but.......... While I was at the TT , and couldn't move from are viewing area, I bloody enjoyed watching them , BIG BIG respect ..
The beer pump sat in Sulby Glen Hotel Is made from a Honda engine that used to power a side car round. Got a kind of a local story going on with it, all documented in pictures too. Maybe next year the chosen ones? Can sample a few pints pulled from it
the brother in law's cousin was a repeated Irish champion and they had a older zx10 sidecar for sale...the bro in law wanted me to do passenger but I was saying hell no, I want to be the pilot.
Bloke I had known for years and rode with all over Europe, sitting there one night in the bar during a trip, we are all chewing over racing, and someone said how mad sidecar racers must be. Matey casually throws in he had done 2 seasons in the tub, but got fed up after a few crashes..............explained a lot about him
Yeah I had a pint pulled from that last week. Tell you what though, they haven't half cleaned it up nice!!
