I have a 2013 and it’s on about 18k now I’m wanting to check the valve clearances how hard is it to do and if so how hard to change shims etc if need be? Any specific tools needed and gaskets to change etc etc ??

not a direct reply but I have noticed on mine and few other posts, the the exhaust ones tend to be on the tight side.

My theory is that thery are all on the tight side from the factory allowing for wear & running in and increasing tolerances.
If you ride you bike with mechanical sympathy, then they will stay tight for longer period compared to it being thrashed or raced.
That's my theory but happy to be put right.
If you get in there, changing the spark plugs if you bike it second hand, would be wise
