I purchased a spare pair of wheels from a fellow forum member last month, and as the original refinisher was never open, I enlisted my dad as he used to have his own spray shop to give them a respray. Although he didn't mind doing the Celly primer, he didn't fancy tackling the base coat and lacquer as it's 2k. So as the weather is ideal, I've done them myself, base coat is on and dry, now to do the clear coat.
All done now sat in the sun getting a tan, both the wheels and me lol. I was quoted £120 by a refinisher to do them. I already had a small compressor, so I bought a HVLP gun off flea bay for £19 new, just a small one. The paint cost £70 all in, I still have lots left, plus a decent mask. Add to that the satisfaction of doing it myself and it's happy days. Got the new PR4's already bought, as well as new bearing to fit, just need some stainless wavy discs and right angle valves now, then they'll be ready for wet days and winter
Gradually getting there now, new tyres on, bearings and captive spacers fitted, just awaiting discs and titanium bolts and then they will be ready for the end of summer and wet roads
