Hi everyone, been doing some thinking and I don’t really get to use my blade much, coupled with a young family I’ve taken the difficult decision to potentially let her go.

she’s a 2011 HRC blade, without the dreaded abs! she’s got 12k miles on her with 2 owners (pretty sure I’m the second)

minimal service history (with regards to stamps in book) but lots of receipts from the previous owner as he done his own servicing.
I’ve had the bike 18months and she always gets compliments, it’s 10 years old so not immaculate but quite close - in my opinion. most of you will probably know how well she gets looked after.

She’s got MOT until mid august 2021 but I would put a new one on if desired at full asking price. Tyres, chain etc in good condition.

I bought the bike totally standard and have added the following mods:

    genuine e comfort seat
    Sato street hooks
    Genuine Sp cowl
Racefit growler exhaust with infill panel
Hrc branded Racing radiator guards radiator guard
    Double light mod
    Honda racing tall screen
    Evotech tail tidy
    Genuine Honda whale fin hugger
    Genuine HRC indoor cover.
Maybe a few more little mods, can’t quite remember lol

all standard parts come with the bike including pillion pegs and seats, original screen etc. Two keys for the bike, could also come with ABBA superbike stand with front lift arm, brand new ugly bros 30L and 10L tailpacks and some cleaning supplies etc if required.

the bike has a minuscule amount of finance left owing which would be paid in full at time of sale for peace of mind of buyer, otherwise HPI clear.

private plate WONT be included - bike will be on original number PN11NJE.

happy to do a deal but not desperate to sell, Mileage may go up as might get used on the odd sunny day but I can’t see it going past 13k, I’ve only done 1100 miles in 18 months

    looking for £6950 all in,
£6800 without stand and bags and cover.
    And £6250 minus mods

not willing to split the mods on the bike until bike has gone, for anyone who wants to do a reg check on MOT history etc current reg is L18MPS

    bike located in Cambridgeshire.
    Any questions please PM.

    :(:(

Don’t do it unless you need the cash or its causing too much hassle with the family - you’ll regret it

Totally agree, I know I’ll regret it. Won’t get another like that for sure but I can’t justify it costing me to sit in the garage so often now, and due to lack of riding buddies I just don’t get the same satisfaction after a ride out now :(

If you’re not enjoying it then that’s a different thing altogether. Good luck

If you sell it you will regret it. Can't say how much but your head will be on permanent trav stab when bikes go by for years to come. Then one day* you will be that old bloke who hangs around biker places regaling people with stories of your daring do when younger :p:confused:

*unless they eventually ban bikes fully

I have but it’s a bit up in the air tbh. I’ve spent too much money lately but I have use of another bike to go if needed. Which is a good luxury to have

A good trip away on the blade might make you feel differently.

I know how you feel Liam. But don't do it you'll come to regret it !

Haven't rid the SP2 since the 1st service last June, not even reached 700 miles yet. ZZR has been out once in a year!
I've had a changed of jobs since first lockdown, 75 hours last week 1 day off since Easter, but on a standard 40h week I've doubled my income so can't have the best of both worlds. Plus the Police down here in Cornwall nicked a few bikers for going out with "essential travel bull" So just blocked it by working all the time. Hence also not being on here much.

Having said that I just couldn't bring myself to sell. I've booked a trip to Wales and the Peak district with 11 acquaintanceso_Oo_O in July, I dont want to take the SP2 due to the low mileage on it:rolleyes:, while the ZZR is "our" bike so won't be allowed to take that, so thinking 3rd bike :D:D:D
more of a sit up and beg tourer rather than a sports bike !!

Edited to say GLWTS if thats what you decide to do

Bike looks beautiful Liam, and i can fully understand the reasons for selling it, if you can't justify the cost of keeping the bike and you are in desperate need for the money it has to go, but you will regret it and deep down you know you will, but if there is another reason (accident) and you are not getting enjoyment from riding the bike it's best to sell and maybe come back to biking after a break.
Good luck with whatever you decide, she is a stunning machine

Thanks guys, appreciate the kind words. I’ve made up my mind she will be going, but I’m not in a rush to sell. Will see what the next month or two brings. If anyone knows anyone whose interested, send them my way :):)

There is another solution! I had exactly the same issue with my 2015 blade sat in the garage getting taken out a few times a year and no biker mates to go out with. I got rid of it and bought an rr5. I then got the same issue with that being a very low mileage pristine repsol so sold it thinking that was me done with bikes and then within a week I couldn't handle no bike in the garage so got an even cheaper rr4 for £3k with 15k miles. I can handle that being in the garage not being used often but keeps my options open for that time I need it or I have the urge for a blast plus keeps my NCD going as lapsing that and then changing your mind is a costly mistake. If you spend some time looking there are some bargain rr4/5s to be picked up around £3250-£3500 and you still have a litre blade in the garage.

Have thought about that, or even getting a scratcher for a year or two just to see how I feel. Had a break of a couple of years 8 years ago and had to get back on one. I don’t necessarily find the enjoyment in having all the power but not using it so may look to a green lane bike for a year or two and I’d use it in the winter too. Will see how it goes. Had a few offers on the blade but not quite close enough, will take her out and do a proper ad at the weekend and see how it goes from there. I just know I’ll regret it, but I think it’s the right decision :(:(

Yep been there before too given up thinking that was it but only lasted a couple of years then had the shock of starting ncd all over again getting straight back on another blade. Good luck with selling and never ridden anything other than sports bikes so can't comment on a green laner but i'm probably missing out!
