Seen some good vids on Youtube bout this area, so decided I need to explore.

    Outbound on 16th Sep 2020 -
    Cork - Santander
    1 person/bike/4 berth cabin
    Return on 24th Sep

    €428

Got cheap Hotel with brekkie for €224

Have 7 days to explore the great Spanish roads round the Picos de Europa.

Might seem expensive for ferry, but riding through France & back wouldn't be viable. Would need a rear tyre in middle of trip, plus fuel, accommodation etc & 2 days riding through France & back. Plus the fact I've rode through France last year & this year, so I've seen enough of it. Plus France is bloody expensive!

Chill out on boat, sink a few beers & arrive in Spain at 2-3pm afternoon, then a nice 200km trip to digs. Arrive back to Cork at 7pm & then 1hr spin home. Roll on[IMG]

    Sounds good, and avoiding France.

Suddenly petrol got really expensive and they dropped the speed limit on "D" roads from 90 kmh to 80 kmh (50 mph) - with increase in enforcement as it is all about revenue collecting.

This is the first year since 2002 that I have not been to France with either a bike or car.

So envious you can just roll on to a ferry and arrive in Spain - sailing times look good as well. Leave all your luggage in one place and go out on the bike.

    Tops.

Picos deffo on my bucket list, Mrs won't do the ferry that far, she does get sea sick, so I'll have to drive through France to get there.

Love the Picos, cheap fuel, accommodation, food and not a lot of traffic Was told to be careful by the police while funny enough we were parked at a junction waiting for the others. Other police have pulled over and waved us past, By Riano fuel station there is regulary a police car watching you ride round the lakes, first time we saw them parked we thought shit were in doodoo deep ! I think they appreciate the fact bikers spend a lot of money locally has it is not exactly a busy area. there not wankers like the French or Swiss. Stunning scenery aswell, a few deer stag statues and even a granite bear. Plenty of activities to do like quads, canoeing, zip wires, go-karts ans the Fuente de cable car 15 miles from Potes stunning road to it aswell.. I could go on :)
