Chain Sizes?

    Just a question for you all......

    What's the difference between 520, 525 & 530 chain sizes? i assume there is no difference in performance.

    Width i believe. Thinner chains are lighter and have a lower centrifugal force, allowing more power from the engine to the back wheel with fewer losses in power. The down side is that are not as strong and can break more easily, so are generally reserved for track/race bikes.

    Yep I use a 520 on my race bike, its pretty much the standard. Because its rotating mass the reduction in weight is multiplied when going a little bit quick.

    The downside is its not as strong and wont last as well.
