Andrea Dovizioso and Ducati together beginning in 2013 Borgo Panigale (Bologna) 22 August 2012 – Ducati and Andrea Dovizioso have reached an agreement that will see the Italian wearing the colours of the Ducati Team in 2013 and 2014. Andrea Dovizioso, who currently sits in fourth place overall in the MotoGP championship standings, will join Nicky Hayden on the team. The pair will face next season together, working on development of the Desmosedici and the MotoGP project for the championship in which Ducati has played an important role since 2003.
Now to wait and see where Cal is going. (if it's not public by the 11th sept I'll ask him when I meet him )
Reckon Cal dodged a bullet, there. He may not think so at the moment but that feted move could easily have been a career-ender, imo. I think Yam will give him a factory spec bike next year to stay at Tech 3 and he'll be regularly beating Dovi on the Duc. Still amazed they signed Smith up so early, but he could learn a lot from Cal. Would love to see Redding on a decent proto or satellite bike and definitely not a CRT.
I think they underestimate Cal and his abilities what he can do with a bike. He belongs definitely on a good bike and in MotoGP.
I really hope to see a full British team on the *Cough* french Tech-3 bikes. I'm still a little concerned that Smith is moving up too early but I really hope he puts in a good show and learns a lot form Cal. I think Redding deserves a moto GP ride.
I really think that's to early for Smith and Redding, but we will see. Unfortunate for them, they will not get the same material and top bike like Marc Marquez.
Redding has to move up imo, he's such a big lad, he's struggling on the moto2 simply because of his size. If u look at MotoGP, Rossi is no shorty, neither was marco(bless him). Danni is a midget, an they can all compete! Redding has some truly natural talent, but he does need someone to get that little bit more! I would not go CRT, but perhaps the muted second factory Ducati team that press are hyping a little. Smith is gifted! Look at his last tace on a so so competitive 125.But so inconsistent, my thoughts are that he struggles with the set up tbh, because when he's confident, he is a race winner! As far as Cal, I think his best hope is tech3 for another year, but next year is the one he must shine in. Dovi has shown to be a stronger rider, despite Cal's heroics, which are already legendary!! He Must step up the game!
