Any of the above, but also cross-check with Amazon.co.uk to see if they're cheaper on there and to read reviews on specific models.

updated not so long ago to a slim 3d plasma and pic quality is great.

    +1 @ Panasonic.
SmartViera rules over quality and you can use your smart phone on the telly too.

I would first (if you can) get to Costco. free 5 year warranty and got the last 8 Tv's from costco for home work and family. from 22" for bedroom to 40+ for lounges they have some great prices also

    well worth trying first

Example. but over budget they have a 42" smart LCD Toshiba with full HD and 3D for £580

I have just bought a 50" Panasonic 3D HD Plasma in Prague for £518. The equivalent in UK was £1170. And that was A grade! I nearly bought 2 of them! I have also a 42" Pioneer, and a 37" Panasonic. Both Plasma, unbelievable quality. Will never buy any other make other than them 2. But each to their own.
Do research, especially regarding your use. Example, gaming, blu ray, sky, terrestrial.
And try them all. Good luck

Btw, whatever you do get the largest size you can afford as you'll always be thinking you need a bigger one when you get used to the size of it. (isn't that right, eh girls?!)

If you're just using it with non-HD sources then worth foregoing some of the features for HD in favour of a larger screen.

Got both a panasonic plasma (main screen) wicked for gaming too. Also had a samsung lcd and its still go strong and great piccy so would recommend these.
TIP: if you dont have a catalogue Very.co.uk etc, open an acoount find the tv you want (check its a comparable price to amazon) then use one of the many Firt offer deals.
We got £56 off our plasma paid £40 quid less than amazon got it delivered and payed 9 months later.
    Just check prices first tho
