I had nothing better to do today so I thought I'd spend a couple of hours removing all the damaged parts on my bike. Ready for when the weather gets better. I damged the theads and seal for the inspection cap. Not perfect but its alot better than the old one. I'm still looking for a rear brake pedal. Has anyone got a spare they dont need? Its the only part I'm after now. I hate drilling the fairings to fit these. I think I measured it up about 10 times before drilling! I'll add more pics when I get round to finishing it.
Yeah it's not too bad. I'm just gutted I didn't have the r+g stuff on beforehand. Would of saved myself a few quid! Oh well you live and learn.
I was going to ask your opinion on protection in my reply but didn't want to come over as patronising .but as you have stepped up to the plate what now would you recommend and would the cost of protection be worth it ( noting that new protection would have to be purchased)
II would definitely recommend having the crash protectors on. They cost £61 with the drill bit. They would of saved the fairing and engine case. Two costly parts of the bike. So I would only of had to get the brake lever, handle bar protecor and another set of crash protectors. What put me off buying them in the first place was putting a big hole in the fairings. But Id be more confident doing it again. Its not that bad a job to do.
Fitted the rear brake line today. What do you think? Not sure what I think yet. They definitely stand out, something different to the silver and black. Great deal from bike bits NI though. I also fitted some stomp grips.
HRC brake reservoir. Looks alot better than the standard reservoir. I didnt like the black brake pipe from the reservoir to the master cylinder.
