well it is not essential to fit 1 if your aftermarket exhaust has a hole for the oem o2 sensor but if you do not fit 1 then the power commander does not have full control over the fueling at low revs, by installing 1 you can gain full control and then gain more power/torque low down

Is it possible to just disonnect the current o2 sensor for now or isit best to wait for an o2 eliminator?

No. The Engine Management EFI light will come on (if thats what it is called).

I have a O2 Eliminator for the RR6 for sale if you need one, Cost will be £5.00 plus delivery about £1.50

    Thanks

think its just a light but then if your injection system does fault
you wont know about it and just be riding on.

It's a different fitting rr6 to rr8 however, just use a330 ohm resister (10p at maplin) placed between the terminals on the connector, simples

Do them resistors generate much heat.
I know the ones for leds would give you a
    Nasty burn when in use.
