Just booked my first trackday at Cadwell on the 30th of April. Dead excited. Is anyone from the forum going? I'll be in the novice group of course!!
i am going with a couple of mates from work... as far as i am aware it is an open pitlane trackday which means no novices.. only fast group riders who have done several trackdays including cadwell ,as a lot of racers use these days to set up their bikes for racing, and believe me they can be bloody fast ,you dont want to be in their way.(or are you just doing the evening session?) looks like i am going to have to check with no limits to see what is happening .
There's the link mate.. sure you've got the right date?? I've clicked novice and booked it, it doesn't say anything about being an open pit day?? Some of the others do but not that one
R1monkey, ive just had a quick look and The open pit lane is for the 3rd of May. The one you have booked on 30th April Y Tyke is indeed an ordinary track day with the three groups. Enjoy your day mate, and don't forget to have a good read through all the hints and tips that are available to youin the track day threads. And don't forget, we love a good account of the day, however well or badly it went
Yeah mate, I think I'm all set, I've booked into a B&B the night before in louth so I can be there nice and early on the day. Will have to be sure not to have too many sherberts!! Gonna have to literally take paperwork and baffle with me since there's nowhere to leave belongings. I don't have a gopro so phone piccys will have to suffice if my memory still functions with all the adrenaline! Since I'm riding the bike there do I just fold in my mirrors and tape up my lights and number plate??? Hope the weather holds out!!
Yeah just fold mirrors take plate off loads of people there with tools etc bud You booked in the green man by any chance ?
it looks like they have changed it from open pit lane.. i rang today and the bloke said to call back when offices are open ,he said there had been a few changes made lately but he didnt have the dates in front of him.
Yeah that may be why theyve suddenly put it on offer at 65 quid to make up the places. guess that means fast and intermediates will be full so quick lads will be getting put in my novice group :/
rung them up today ,and yes they had changed it to a normal day. pitty they didnt tell anyone , i think there will be a few peed off people on the 30th. so we have rebooked for the 3rd ,which is open pitlane.
