Ad hate to have to go through that especially for something that wasn't my own fault, but I probably also would have to get dragged off the guy that caused it if I could walk after the incident! The rage would take over am sorry to say!

Wish the poor sod well tho.

I managed up later after i left work and the rain/hail passed. A lot of guys paid a lot of money to sit in a tin hit watching clouds!

I feel the same as some have already said , would love to track my bike but can't afford to bin it. I tracked my first big bike , an ER6F in 08 with my cousin on his aprilia. We did the sighting lap behind the car then set off. 2nd lap my cousin binned it going into the hairpin. I never went back out and have never been back on track since.

Me and a few mates were doing a 2 day track day at Caldwell a couple of years back
Mate of mine just brought a 2010 repsol brand new on finance can't Remember how many
Miles he had done on it but wasn't many we all thought he was made taking it
But yes you guessed it he high sided it at about 70 mph
He fixed it up best he could and still owns it and rides it everyday he's now done over 15,000
Miles on it he is not a forum member but if you see a repsol riding around Surrey
With a damaged tank with a Caldwell park sticker to mark the spot go over and say hello
I won't be track dating my blade any time soon !!!

Mate, most of us have been there on track, yes there are arses at most track days, but on the whole 99.99% of riders do not go out to intentionally wipe out someone else, its all part of the risk you take when going out there, as harsh as it is, if you can't afford to lose the stake then don't gamble, cos thats what track days are.

If we try to find our limits, we crash eventually, and always hoping you don't wipe anyone else out and you walk away.

About 2 years ago when working on the new kirkcaldy hospital job a few of us were trying to arrange to go to a k/hill track night. Couldnt make it on the day but remember one site manager riding in to work on a gleaming gxsr, limped in to work next morning though. Binned it at the hairpin.:)

Helped make my mind up that there is no way I am taking my blade on track.
My mate was trying to get me to go up to Knockhill for a track day with it. No chance.

I've taken my blade on track, in original road fairings at Cadwell, Donington and Mallory and the Nurburgring.

Its a great risk - I wonder how a private claim for damages from the owner of the 'at fault' bike would be handled - I've head the phrase ' Track day rules apply' but it would be interesting how it would be handled - not claiming off the circuit or operator but the individual. You have caused damage to somebody elses property and they want it replaced. If a few claims went through and were successful it would make a lot of folk ride a whole lot better.

I did a couple of the Bike magazine road bike only track days and they were great - almost zero offs, 100% track time as no red flags and people riding with care and respect for others.

If you want to do a track day on your road bike that is what I would look to book

I have heard there is - but needs to be taken out before you go on the track and is not cheap..

the damage dont look that bad...i guess he could source the parts of ebay and pop them on..(providing nothing is bent on the bike)
